Athens City Campaign
In order to start a campaing you have to understand your product, in this case Athens. So, we started with the SWOT analysis which is the strengths, the wicknesses, the opportunities and the threats that Athens as a brand has to face.
They use to say that Greece is not only Athens.
We want to put on that Athens is not only the historical center.
When foreigners visit Athens they usually stay only for a few days. What reason for? Because they believe that there are not many things to do and see here. They are informed only about the basics. As we mentioned above, most tourists know only the basics about our city (Acropolis, Parthenon, Monastiraki area and all these well-worn places). But nothing more.
So, through our campaign our aim is to lure tourists who are usually staying in Athens for two – three days to extend their stopover in Athens. Also, we want local people to discover sides of Athens that they haven't seen before.
And how will we succeed it? With the help of social media we make suggestions to potential tourists who are planning to visit Athens. We give locals the opportunity to explore new areas. And we suggest them to see and live this city in a different alternative way. This campaign aims the target group of 15-45.
In a few words, beyond the historical center, Athens is also:

Culture: including museums, exhibitions, festivals and concerts, etc. Modern Greek Art is rarely advertised and freaquently overshadowed by the ancient monuments.

Fun: What we can say for sure, is that Athens is the city of amusement. We can give many recommendations about entertainment. No matter what your preferences are, in Athens you can find anything to spend pleasant time.

Sports: Our city offers many chances to anyone who wants to participate in athletic motions. Don’t forget, Athens hosted the Olympic games twice. She is also the “mother city” of the marathon.

Youth: More and more greek start-ups made by young people make their way outside Greece.
Among our suggestions we will also organize many actions. Also, through our blog we are giving to citizens the opportunity to organize and advertise actions concerning our city.
